Calcium is very useful to improve the road safety in the winter. On top on being harmful for the environment, calcium can stain our clothes. It would be a good thing for the ministry to favour sand and small rocks… But until then, we are stock with it.

It could be from the calcium on the winter roads or from any other origin, it is not very tricky to wash off a calcium stain on our clothes. Here is a very simple ecological tip to get ride of a calcium stain that anyone can try at home. Furthermore, this is with what you already have at home!

You will need a braid of vinegar and water from tap. You will have to dilute the vinegar with a little bit of water and let the stain dip in. After a few moments, the stain will be gone.

When we discover an ink pencil stain on our clothing, we are always a bit discouraged. However, these are not the worst stains to try and get ride off.

Here is a very simple and ecological tip to get rid off an ink pencil stain according to grand-mothers…

Poor a little bit of milk in a small bowl. Dip in the stain in the bowl and make sure that it is covering the ink stain. After letting the milk “work his way in”, wash with soap water and rub the stain. Rinse thoroughly in order to take off every trace of milk…

If you find out a little rust stain on your clothes, there is a way to get ride of it without harming the environment. You need to use the following little ecological tip to get ride of a rust stain.

Get your lemon juice out of the fridge and your slat shaker ! Mix the salt and the lemon juice in which you will dip in the stain.

The food that we get in our body is usually pretty greasy with all the frying that we now incorporate in our diet, especially with all those frozen meals. This bad habit gets us to have more and more grease stain on our clothes when we drop a piece of food or even we cook.

Obviously, start by taking the piece off…

Cover the grease stain with flour (or baby powder by Johnson…). The major part of the grease will be absorbed. Take the flour off by gently ribbing it. You will only have to wash that part in water added with a bit of dishwashing soap.

“Damn chewing gum!” is what comes to mind when you see gum stuck on the pants of your kid that get home from school or from playing outside.

If the gum is not printed side to side of the pants, everything is not lost. Don’t try to get the soften gum out right away, you would only make it worst. Here is how to get rid off chewing gum on a pair of pants or every piece of clothing.

Put the pants in the freezer, the gum stain up side !

Wait for at least half an hour in order to let the gum become hard, side to side… not only on the surface. At that moment, you can take off the pants from the freezer.

Immediately, take a butter knife (or a knife that can’t cut) and raise the gum. If you need, you can rub gently.

Generally the results are pretty convincing.

You can put the cloth in the freezer for half an hour, in order for the wax to harden up. Then, you can take off the major part of the wax.

For the part that rest, lay down a hand paper on the wax stain on the cloth. Lay down a rag between the cloth and the iron plank. Use your hot iron to make back and forth movements on the hand paper. Do it for a few times.

Of course, this is a grandma tip… but depending on the fabric, it works.

The sweat stains are one of the hardest stains to make disappear… Everybody has in there homes the products that you need in order to take car of these stains, usually regular and recurrent! Put aside your toxic and dangerous products !

Just do a simple vinegar and water mix… You will only have to soak in the part of the cloth with the stain… Then, wash it as usual…

Nothing complicated… and healthier for the planet !

Your little sweet heart got a scratch and blood got on his shirt or short ? Nothing serious there… treat the wound… you will easily get ride off the blood stain after…

The little ecological tip to get ride off a grass stain is simply to use an old toothbrush and brush off the stain with toothpaste. Brush the green stain with circular movements.

Get the left-over of toothpaste foam and repeat if needed. Never add water. When the results seems convincing, rinse with water.

Here is a grandma tip in order to get ride off a major part of red wine stains. Of course, this also depends on the fabric of your tablecloth and on the size of your mess! Here is my little ecological tip to get ride off a red wine stain.

As soon as the “catastrophe” happens, grab the salt shaker by the collar and be generous! Put a lot of salt. In general, this works like a charm. Then rinse, after the meal of course, with cold water to get rid off the salt. Finish by washing your tablecloth normally in the washer.

This doesn’t do miracles, but it can be pretty efficient.
