Situated in Quebec, in Sorel-Tracy, the Centre de transfert technologique en écologie industrielle (CTTEI) manage different study projects and try to develop the expertise of Quebecer businesses in the industrial ecology field.
On of these projects, on of the most innovative and promising of the industry is to recover the residual or under-product of the metallurgic businesses of the area and transform it into an ecological ice remover.
In order to do so, the researchers are using acetate of calcium-magnesium (ACM). After a few steps, they get the ecological and non-toxic for the environment ice remover. This ice remover can be used on the streets or for a personal use. This product is not dangerous for our grass and plants and he is totally biodegradable.
An other nice realization from Quebec.
